This online curriculum fulfills all regulatory requirements set forth by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for unarmed security personnel. However, at Apex Tactical Institute (ATI), we view state compliance as the floor, not the ceiling. We do not provide "check-the-box" training; we provide foundational preparation for front-line duty. Our students aren't just licensed—they are trained to operate with the proficiency required in high-stakes environments.

The Foundational Response Protocol (FRP) is a rigorous 16-hour curriculum designed specifically for school security personnel. This course serves as Part 1 of a two-part series, functioning as the vital precursor to the advanced R.E.S.P.O.N.D. (Rapid Emergency Security Protocol for On-scene Neutralization & Defense) course. While R.E.S.P.O.N.D. focuses on advanced tactical execution, FRP builds the essential, life-saving mindset and technical foundation required for anyone stepping into a school security role.
